Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I am 29 and my partner is 32, trying to conceive for 11 months now. When we did not succeed,we consulted a Doc. I was diognised with PCOS. That came as a shock as my menses have been regular and i have never missed a period ever! My cycles are always between 28-31 days. In these 11 months, i have used iknow to check for ovulatiom and it has shown me positive (2 solid lines) between 14-16 day. I have no excessive facial hair, not obese.BMI is less than 25 With all these conditions can i still have PCOS or can it be something else. Thanks madhu
I can understand your concern. Did your doctor did blood tests and/or ultrasonography to diagnose PCOD?
I agree with you as none of your symptoms indicate towards possibility of PCOD. If your doctor did the above mentioned investigations and diagnosed cysts in ovaries, then I would also recommend you to start therapy for PCOD.
However, in absence of such reports, PCOD cannot be confirmed. In that case, I would advise you to go for blood tests to determine level of FSH, LH, TSH in your body and ultrasonograohy for detection of possible cysts. Diagnosis and treatment can be decided only after test results.
I hope this information helps you. Thank you for choosing HealthcareMagic. Take care.
Best, Dr. Viraj Shah
