Can PTSD Along With Spinal Disc Herniation Be Treated?

Are doctors afraid to help someone with numerous issues? Or is it lack of funds. I carried a 4.0 in college, I didn t expect this life. PTSD, 3 bulging in the neck, 5 herniated in thorasic, 5 herniated lumbar, S-1, plus a lot more stuff. Next month I turn 56, I still have a hard time facing the fact of now I can t move as quick, I still was doing good at 50, no heavy pain drugs. So, are Docs afraid or and is it bad insurance?

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

PTSD and pain due to lumvmbar disc germination cn be managed very well together. You need to discuss with yiur doctor about the different treatment options and talk to your insurance company about what they cover and the out of pocket costs that you will have to deal with. PTSD is best managed with class of medication called SSRIs. Lumbar disc herniation is treated with pain meds, physiotherapy or surgery depending on the severity of the condition and the disability it causes.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
