Can Panadol And Xanax Be Taken Together?

I am taking Xanax .25mg every night to help with insomnia. I am now feeling like the flu is trying to hit me. So I would like to forgo the Xanax tonight and just take a Panadol Multisymptom night time 500mg tablet. Is this okay? Will it make me sleep & reduce my symptoms of mild sore throat & mild stuffy nose?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

It is better to avoid taking Xanax. In my opinion you can take Acetaminophen (Panadol) 500 mg tablet for relieve. To help your symptoms get reduced you can take antihistamine, Zyrtec (Cetirizine) one SOS at bed time. It will also help you get sleep. Do not take alcohol, alcohol interacts with medications. Hope I have answered your question.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
