Can Parkinson Or Diabeties Be Genetically Transmitted ?

I have some health issues that are the result of being exposed to the herbiside Agent Orange while serving in Vietnam in 1968. It took about 30 years to manifest itself to be diagnosed as Parkinsons and also Diabidies are my grandchildren in any danger of contracting these or other illnesses.

Hi
Thanks for asking
Based on your query my opinion is
1. Exposure to chemicals/ herbicide would have made you to manifest with disease with probably a genetic factor.
2. Diabetes mellitus can be hereditary, will manifest in offsprings if they are genetically susceptible.
3. However if your grandchildren maintain a healthy lifestyle with nutritious diet.
4. They need to be screened earlier to know their metabolic status as they are prone to contract Type 1 diabetes early in life.
5. Parkinson's has a genetic factor but chances of transmission is less. They can go for genetic testing if in doubt.
Hope this helps
Regards
