Can Perindopril Erbumine Be Taken With Potassium Rich Food Items?

Hi, I am taking perindopril erbumine 8mg tablets and a sticker on the box says do not take potassium while taking this drug . Is it relating to potassium supplements ? What about potassium found in foods? Would appreciate an understanding on this. Thanks Lola

hi.. its true..you have to avoid potasium while on perindopril erbumine.
because one of side effect it causes increase potassium level..
if we take potassium with perindopril it will further increase it..
condition calles hyperkalemia..which causes IRREGULAR HEART BEATs, MUSCLE WEAKNESS , FATIGUE ect..
so avoid it strictly...
as far as potassium in food is concern it also dangerous but only thing it depends how much potassium absorbed by intestine.
so any form of potassium is avoided.
take care
