Can Pilondial Cyst Cause A Dry Patch At The Bottom Of The Tailbone Area After Being Surgically Treated?

I have a 3-4 inch patch just inside the lower left butt crack. It is hard and peels daily. There is no puss and has been going on about 6 weeks I ve used a Rx antibiotic cream on it daily with now results. It popped up a few months after I got rid of a pilonidal cyst I didn t know if they could be related. Occasional mild itching before peeling and mild sting after. What is it and how can I get rid of it?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

It might be eczema unrelated to the pilonidal sinus.

As first-line management, you can apply low potency steroid creams like betamethasone for symptomatic relief. If the lesion persists, it is better to consult a dermatologist and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
