Can Potassium Supplement Be Taken In Place Of Potassium Chloride?

I normally, as part of my medication routine, take 3 ea Potassium Chloride - PO 10 MEQ daily. Thru some medical problems etc I am running short of some of my prescribed meds. To tide me over for a short while, I picked up a Potassium supplement at the drugstore today, Potassium Supplement, 99 mg. Can I substitute this kind for about a week ? Eva W.

Hi, i do care for your concern.
Both drugs and supplement can be given in a patient to treat hypokalaemia.
however the dosage of the drug is important, as change in potassium level can alter the cardiac functioning.
It is wise to consult your physician and to the the correct dosage of this new medication, which will help you a lot.
Hope I have answered your question. If you have any further questions I will be happy to help.
Thank you
