Can Prednisone And Ibuprofen Be Taken Together For Ankylosing Spondylitis?

I am beginning a week long prednisone regimen (10mg 2x/day for 3 days, 10mg 1x/day for 4 days) for ankylosing spondilitis. I also am travelling and have fairly severe lower back and hip pain from sitting so long. Is it safe for me to continue taking my typical ibuprofin dose (800 mg/day) with the prednisone?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

It is safe to take Ibuprofen with Prednisone.

They both work better on reducing inflammation caused by an autoimmune mechanism in anchylosis spondylitis.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Olgeta Xhufka,
