Can Prednisone Be Taken For Breathing Problem?

I have breathing problems and am ooxygen and have some heart problems not too bad they say had agood heart but now a weakened muscle have had 3 trips to AJ fast track and the emergency dr has treated me with Prendizone and I amount to wean me off after 30 pills I have had the last dose 2 weeks since I am off it My g.p has given me a prescription if I have troubles again which I am starting to get bad again Should I taik the weaning off prescription or should I try to take a lesser amount and be able to stay on it longer will you be able to address my question I am 84 yrs old and weigh only 89 lbs my e mail is YYYY@YYYY Betty Michel
