Can Pristiq Cause Muscle Pain In The Body?

Im 2 years on Pristiq and im having chronic pain nearly in all my body. Lower back, neck, head (severe pain), the muscle in my leg, foot pain in my right leg, hips (not severe but always there pain). My arms also starting to be in pain. And my hands. I have run full spine RMI and nothing reasonable showed up. Also all the rheumatology tests. Nothing. I was prescribed to take Colagen ect but I feel its not what I need. Can you please tell me if all this muscle pain can be caused by Pristiq? I would be so happy if so because my life is a nightmare now. Are there people reporting the same or similar problems while on Pristiq? Im not sure if the pain comes from my bones, joints, muscle or tendons. Very hard to say. Thank you.

Hi,

Based on the history you have shared, with negative Rheumatological workup, even then possibility of fibromyalgia can be kept in mind and Rheumatologist review to clinically evaluate it should be sought.

Pristiq usually doesn't cause such side effects but the reason it has been prescribed in the first place, that is underlying depression may present like the symptoms you have been suffering from, so treatment optimization should be done by a psychiatrist.

Also, the levels of B12 folic acid and D3 should be evaluated alongwith the thyroid profile.
