Can Propranolol, Hydrochlorothiazide And Sertraline Be Taken Together?
Hi. I ve been taken off clonidine for propranolol 80mg er, and then now start sertraline 50mg, plus take hydrochlorothiazide 25 mg, prempro .3-1.5mg, vitamin d 1000, and b6 50mg. Plus at times inhaler Albuterol for emergency and combivent for long term. Can these meds all work together?
Welcome and thanks for your query. There is an adverse interaction between Propranolol and Sertraline in that Sertraline increases the level of Propranolol. You must be having asthma as you are prescribed Albuterol and combivent. Propranolol is a non selective beta blocker and should not be used in asthmatics as it can make asthma worse or precipitate dangerous attacks. Please discuss with your care provider and request a change of Propranolol .
Do get back to me if you have further queries.
