Can Prozac Cause Lightheadedness And Nausea?
I have started a new antidepressant, Prozac. I have been taking Effexor 300mg, Trazodone 50-100 mg, and Wellbutrin 300 mg. My doctor is in the process of weaning me off of Effexor while adding Prozac to my medications. I have done the week of 10 mg. Prozac and 150 mg. Effexor and all the other antidepressants. I started the second week today with 20 mg. Prozac and 75 mg. of Effexor as well as all my other medications. I did skip two days during the first week due to the flu. However, ever since I have had the flu (5 days ago), I am still getting nausea and lightheadness. I am worried about the amount of anti-depressants I am taking and wonder if they could be related to how I am feeling. I can t do too much without starting to feel bad. Please realize that I am also on other medications - 50 mg. Tramadol, 40 mg. Lispinoril, 1300 mg. Tylenol. Tranmadol and Tylenol for pain from a car accident 6 years ago, and Lispinoril for high blood pressure.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have lightheadedness and nausea while on prozac . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query like anxiety and the other Benign paroxysmal positional vertigo (BPPV) are ear infection , hypoglycemia , anemia , meniere's disease , migraine and alteration in he blood circulation . Sometimes side effects of certain medicine can also cause suc symptoms as you also mention so consult the concern doctor and discuss the condition . If the symptoms occur for one or two times then its not very serious , but if frequency increases then it need medical attention . in that case your should consult ENT specialist . Doctor may order test like rotatory chair test , head movement test , posturography, blood test and CT scan . Doctor may prescribe antiemetic drug , sedatives , antibiotics and recommend balance therapy , vestibular therapy or physiotherapy .
