Can Quercetin Be Taken For A Prolonged Period?

Hello. I ve been taking 800 mg Quercetin with 200 mg (2000 GDU) Bromelain daily for a chronic cough due to allergies/cough-induced asthma for close to 12 weeks. I have read the WebMD info which says, Quercetin has been safely used in amounts up to 500 mg twice daily for 12 weeks. It is not known if longer-term use or larger amounts are safe. After taking Quercetin for 12 weeks can you take a break from it and then resume taking it? If so, how long of a break would be recommended? Thank you.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and welcome

I appreciate your concern

If the cough has subsided then you can take a break from quercetine. There is no harm in doing so.

Wishing you best of health

Thanks
