I take 150 mg to 300mg lithium a night, new drug to me since Dec. 2016, how can I wean myself off of it, it makes me so angry and I don t have a psychiatrist right now? email address: YYYY@YYYY Can I use a small dose of Quetiapine with it , I am out of .25 risperdone, or can I take 2 mg aripiprazole? Thanks, Pat 69 year old female, I have taken antidepressants for over 30 years and mood stabilizers
Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic. I can understand your concern. In my opinion, you should not take anti psychotic drugs by your own. Better to consult psychiatrist first. Lithium is used for bipolar disorder. You might be suffering from worsening bipolar disease and not psychosis. So no role of quetiapine in this. And psychiatric drugs do have drug interactions. So better not to take without consulting psychiatrist. So better try to get an early appointment. Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
