General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

The treatment of asthma is to start from one drug and increase as needed. If her asthma was not well controlled with qvar (only steroids) we can always switch to dulera (two drugs).

To be honest, if dulera is started, qvar is not needed however there is no harm in using both for first few days of her asthma is bad enough.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Mahboob Ur Rahman,
