Can Ranexa Damage The Kidneys In An Insulin Dependent Diabetic With Stage 3 Chronic Kidney Disease?

My cardiologist just added Ranexa to my medications and I was wondering if it can damage the kidneys. I have stage 3 chronic kidney disease. My creatine level is 1.2 to 1.4. I am a type I insulin dependent diabetic and have had a triple bypass and just recently started to experience shortness of breath.

Hi there,

Thanks for your query.

Ranexa (Ranolazine) is extensively metabolized in the liver and intestine. Hence, its harmless by-products, excreted by kidneys- will not damage the kidneys.

If you find my response helpful and informative, do not forget an “excellent” (5-star rating) to my answer, to ENCOURAGE ALL doctors- engaged in social service- to render sound advice to the FREE queries.

Take care
