Can Remicade Be Stopped After Intake Of First Dosage?
my daughter started her first dose of remicade and we feel we want to wait since she had some fecal transplant that seem to be working. Can we stop after the first dose without creating anti bodies? we want to keep it for later if she ends up needing it.
If you stop taking Remicade, there is a possibility that it may not work as well the next time you have a flare. This is because when you stop taking Remicade, your body can grow antibodies against the drug, which makes it less effective in the future. It could even lead to adverse reactions. It can take up to 6 months after the last dose for infliximab to be completely eliminated from the body, so some effects might appear during the time.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
