Can Replax Tablets Be Taken For Migraines With History Of Breast Cancer?

Hello, I have stage 1-2 invasive breast cancer. My mastectomy is on June 23rd. I was told that I cannot take Advil, Motrin, or other ibuprofens. I do suffer from migraines and the only thing that helps is Relpax. Can I take 40 mg of that now? Thank you for your help.

Hi,

The Replax contains Eletriptan which is a 5 Hydroxytryptophan agonist agent used in various clinical conditions. It is not recommended to consume the Replax tablet before surgery as that may interfere with the metabolism of anesthetic drug through P 450 system.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
