Can Rheumatoid Arthritis Cause High Temps?

my mom has 101 fever. Can rheumatoid arthritis cause high temps? She is 77. 5'6 and 190 pounds. She has rhuematid and blood clots in her legs. She also has Asthma. She went to the dr. today they listened to her and did x rays and they were fine. She has been hurting alot in her legs and hands.
