Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Our son has been on respirdone for a year now and it helped with his agression but he still suffered from anxiety and ocd . When we spoke to his pediatrition she prescribed prozac. We started at a low dose and gradually increased it up to 20mg. After a month he developed symptoms similar to tourretts. We immediatly stopped the prozac and took him to emergency. It turned out he ended up with a serious drug interaction while taking both respiridone and prozac. They instructed us to stop the respiridone and prescribed him larozopam to take until he sees his doctor. They also suggested he try zoloft with respiridone as they felt he wouldn t develope any adverse reactions. Our question is can we put him on the respiridone his same amount he was taking, his aggitation and aggression has increased dramaticly and he needs this medication we aren t sure what to do as the larozopran they suggested we give him isn t helping with those symptoms. Our pharmacy said it would take about si days for the prozac to leave his system completely, its bin about four days now since he stopped taking it.Our so is suffering and we want answers, thanks!
