Can SGPT Levels Elevate Due To Sternuous Exercising?

I have high SGPT for 1 month now I've been undergoing lab tests to monitor my sgpt. I started from 156 then after two weeks 123 then 102 and 136 again. I've been under medication (Godex). However, yesterday I again undergo laboratory and the result was 440. How can this happen when I have dieted so much even lost weight, maintained my medication, took fish oil and sterilized milk. I have read in one article that strenuous exercise is not recommended, is that true? I went on a gym the day before my laboratory and had muscle pains after. Thank you!

Hello and welcome to HCM,

SGPT is a liver enzyme.
It is elevated in liver related diseases.
The enzyme is released in blood in case of damage to liver cells or hepatocytes.
Thus, an elevated level of SGPT suggests liver cell damage rather than response to exercise.
The common causes of elevated liver enzymes is hepatitis or inflammation of the liver.
Hepatitis can result from multiple causes like viral infections, toxins, drugs, etc.

I would suggest you to consult a gastroenterologist for clinical assessment, relevant investigations and thus management.

Thanks and take care
