Can STD Be Transmitted Despite Protected Sexual Intercourse?

Hello I recently engaged in an msm encounter with a respectful new partner, who has sworn to me he is both sit-free and HIV negative. Prior to intercourse, he engaged in dipping for a few seconds - rubbing his glans on my anus and probing it lightly. this activity lasted perhaps 5-10 seconds. I am now concerned about my risk of exposure. All intercourse was performed protected and he did not climax inside me (in the condom), but outside the body. Should I be concerned for my health? What is my risk at?

Unprotected sex is definitely a risk factor for all STD's.
Genital rubbing is not safe because skin to skin contact and rubbing can be responsible for transmission of Genital Herpes, HPV and Molluscum infection. Having said that, the longer the contact/ genital rubbing the higher the risk.
Even protected sex is not a guarantee against all STD's. Herpes , Mollluscum, Genital warts can be transmitted or acquired despite protected sex with a condom.
Protected sex is certainly protective against major STD's like syphilis, HIV, gonorrhea and chlamydia.
I would suggest a blood test for Herpes with HSV ELISA for type 1 &2 HSV. This can be done earliest at 2 weeks after sexual contact.
Moreover, if you notice any warts or bumps on the genital and perineal area you may get yourself checked with a venereologist.
