I ve have normal t3 and t4 on but high tsh just flagged outside the range twice 6 months apart. Hot even in Air conditioned room 69 degrees but not sweating even when burning up. Was diagnosed Reverse T3 dominance from 2009 to 2016 then changed in August to hypothyroid diagnoisis but unable to tolerate t3 only and doctor was saying he was trying to flush out high RT3 levels which was stopped in November 2016. Cortisol has been high since 2009 tested regulary just wondering if cortisol could raise tsh but it was always around 2 now 5.4 and 4.6 high so that doesn t make sense. Just very hot and from what I read very hot is hyper but can be hypo and also subclinical just trying to figure out if taking T4 with normal t4 and t3 in this situation would help or make things worse as my new doc just gave me first armour and now switched me to t4 synthroid and she wanted me to get and endos opinon
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
You need to start levothyroxine for high TSH and do further examination for the high cortisol level. You need to exclude Cushing syndrome that may be a cause of hot sensation. I do not recommend taking armour thyroid as is very difficult to keep normal hormonal balance with it. You should try levothyroxine.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
