Can TMT Test Of 6 Minutes Be Conclusive?

Yesterday I went for regular checkup. ( I m a BP patient and diabetics also. Angioplasty was done in 2009 and after that I m feeling Ok). During TMT, I was asked to stop after 6 minutes though was feeling normal. Later on positive result was declared and I was asked to consult a Cardiologist. Shoul I go for another TMT test?

Hello,

The doctor who takes the TMT test should know better. TMT test is a stress test. Exercise allows doctors to detect abnormal heart rhythms (arrhythmias) and diagnose the presence or absence of coronary artery disease.

This test involves walking in place on a treadmill while monitoring the electrical activity of your heart. Throughout the test, the speed and incline of the treadmill increase.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
