Can Thyroid 40mg And Metformin 500mg Cause Hair Loss, Dry, Itchy And Oily Scalp?

I have dry itchy scalp I don t see dandruff but hair roots feels oily gummy but scalp feels dry and itchy all day even if I wash daily or not. What product should I use to shampoo? Also I use over the counter root touch up is that causing problem? Hair loss (thining which I m 67 yrs.) is probably normal but it seems with dry scalp it s more so & do I need to take vitamin B? I am taking thyroid 40mg, Metformin 500mg one a day, and ambien at night to sleep. Could anyone of these cause hair loss? Any suggestions would help, thank you!

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of hair loss, dry, itchy and oily scalp which can occur due to many reasons like genetic factor, improper hygiene, stress, fungal infection , covering head with cap and hormonal changes. Need not to worry. I would suggest you to consult dermatologist for proper examination . Doctor may order skin patch test , blood test and physical examination. As you have systemic diseases and you taking medication for the same. Yes these could be the cause of your symptoms. You can take Finpecia at least for 3-4 months or antifungal treatment along with minoxidil spray. You can take indian gooseberry powder with water once a day and use almond oil.
