Can Topamax Be Avoided While On Clonidine?

My 10-year-old grandson is being treated for symptoms of Turrets Disease. He is currently taking clonidine, which has helped off and on until last week when the audible problem became almost continual. For the past 2 days he has been greatly improved. He is scheduled to begin an additional medicine - topomax. Should we delay the topomax to see if the clonidine is working?

Hi,

Clonidine and Topamax are different classes of drug and are intended to do different function.

You can take both drugs together without any concerns.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
