Can Topamax Sprinkles Be Taken For Severe Migraines?

Can Topamax sprinkles be used to tx severe migraines. I take Topomax 25 mg a day which usually controls my migraines. Today with the storm my migraine was 10/10 unable to direct my class, as I am a teacher, could not remember students names. Can Topamax sprinkles help to control a severe migraine such as this?

I read your query and I understand your concern.

Topamax is a prophylactic migraine treatment, meaning that its effect consists in reducing the frequency and intensity of the attacks but it doesn't help much in the treatment of the acute attack itself.
So it wouldn't be of much use for your current crisis, it is other drugs which are usually used like the triptans (zolmitriptan, sumatriptan - providing there are no contraindications like heart conditions).
