Can Tretinoin Gel Be Used For Ringworm Infection?

i hope. i have ringworm on my face went to my dr and she prescribed diflucan and i have taken two rounds in addition to otc ringworm medication it has been 3 weeks and i still have it? i have some tretinoin gel prescription strength would that help?

Hi,

Tretinoin is generally not effective against ringworm infection. It may appear to be somewhat effective, as it causes thinning of epithelium of horny layer of skin. If the treatment already taken by you is not effective, then other antifungal agents like Clotrimazole, Terbinafine, Ictranazole etc. may be tried.
