Can Trimethoprim Cause Issues In Pregnancy?

hi, i went to the doctors yesterday and he said i have UTI and has prescribed me trimethoprim 200mg twice a day for 5 days. i also take the pill microgyon 30. he said there wasnt much risk to getting pregnant so didnt mention anything about using extra protection. i was just wondering if i should and should i use extra protection after ive finished the course?

There is no interaction between the two drugs. So you can safely take the two drugs.
There is no increased risk of getting pregnant without any extra protection.
