Can Tylenol Be Taken For Fever?

hi. my dad is 82 years old and felt warm earlier, and took his temperature it was normal. He just asked to take it again and it s now 100.8. He gets concerned when he gets a fever, he had no other symptoms at all and seems fine. Is taking tylenol and monitoring sufficient you think?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Mild viral infection can cause fever. So paracetamol, as you have mentioned, can be taken. However, for repeated fever feeling I suggest you investigate him with simple CBC for further work up. You can revert back with the report once done.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
