Hi Doctor, I am taking Valparin Chrono since 15 years, however recently the medicine did not get diluted and I used to pass it of in motion.....and I am suggested to take it daily twice but since I am not getting seizures daily I am taking one tablet once in 3 days....Does it have any effect if I take it in this manner.

No u r not suppose to take such medicines by your own. It's dangerous.u may get an attack of seizure when the dose levels come down.R u regularly consulting ur doctor? Usually antiepileptic s r not advised for prolonged periods. If it is the case then u need to be monitored every 3-6 months with Ur doctor.U may require EEG to rule out seizure pattern. And on prolonged valparin liver enzymes need to be checked every 6 months. So plz go to ur doctor and do necessary investigations like EEG and MRI brain and liver function tests.Hope it may help u.
