Can Zofix And Enterogermina Be Given For Diarrhea In Infant?

Hi my baby is 1.5 yrs old. My son was having loose motion from 24 march. Went to doctor next day and he gave oflomac and bifilac for a week. It didn t control. Motion was still there with blood spots and green colour and mucus presence. Then he gave zofix for 3 days and enterogermina for 5 days. Now motion is thick but like beans shape. Started fever from yesterday. Is treatment prescribed is fine? My baby is active.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello and welcome.

Sounds like amoebic dysentery to me requiring the use of antibiotics which your child's doctor atarted just recently. So don't worry about it, the situation should improve soon. The new treatment prescribed is good and is most apt in treating the symptoms.

Best wishes.
