Hi,

Zofran belongs to a class of drugs called serotonin 5-HT3 receptor antagonists. This drug is an antiemetic, meaning it is used to block nausea and vomiting.

Poor concentration and memory loss is not a common side effect of this drug. Prilosec (Omeprazole) is a proton pump inhibitor that decreases the amount of acid produced in the stomach.

This drug is used to treat symptoms of gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) and other conditions caused by excess stomach acid. Even this drug does not cause memory loss as a side-effect.

In my opinion, it is not the medication that causes his concentration problems and memory loss. Stress and anxiety caused by school exams can be the culprit for his actual new symptoms.

Anyway, I suggest consulting his doctor, if the symptoms persist and disrupt his daily activities.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
