Can Zoloft Cause Forgetfulness?

My grandson (11yrs old) started taking Zoloft about a month ago for anxiety. He has become forgetful and forgets to hand in his homework and forgets to bring his books home. recently he lost his North Face jacket and often leaves his computer behind. Could the Zoloft have something to do with these changes in his life?

Understanding your concern. As per your query you are wondering if Zoloft cause forgetfulness. Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query , but in your case the symptoms are probably due to Zoloft as its side effects . Because it has effects like sudden loss of short term memory . I would suggest you to consult doctor , who prescribed Zoloft and discuss the condition with him . Doctor may alter the dose or prescribed substitute . For now do mind relaxing exercises like meditation and yoga .
