Can A Nexplanon Implant Cause Muscle Ache And Stiffness?

Hi there. I have got serve muscle ache and stiffness in both arms and my lower back. It is worse when i wake up after sleep and i have also had the nexaplanon implant fitted 3 weeks ago. Could this be a side effect from my implant? Will these aches dissapear or is it likely that my best option is to have the implant removed and try a different form of contrception? Thanks

Hi,

Muscle aches and stiffness can happen with implants.

You can try analgesics like Ibuprofen or Diclofenac as a first like management and in case of persistent pain, It is better to get it removed and reinserted.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
