Can A Breast Lump Cause Irregular Menstrual Cycles?

2 years ago (1 year after the birth of my 2nd child) my menstral cycle went out of whack. Sometimes it would come every 2nd week, sometimes it would stay with me for a month. I have tried several different birth control pills but nothing seems to help for very long. A couple of days ago, I discovered that I have a lump in my breast. I am wondering if these could be related ?
