Can A Bulge Be The Symptom Of Hernia?

I had a total hysterectomy before Christmas due to fibroids. I left the hospital two days later with a severe cough which I still have. When I left the hospital I had a bulge on my right side near the incision. It has grown large and hard. Would this be hernia?
