Can A Bump On The Head Be Indicative Of Certain Kind Of Tumor?

Hello, being today is sunday and couldn t wait another day but hoping you can help me with this question. Talked with a physician several years ago about this knot on my head wish in time slowly grew. I don t recall the medical term but I do recall him saying the best way to describe it was basically a big pimple. But I ve since had a MIR done on it back in 2014, just to be sure nothing serious and not turmor. Perhaps the question is somewhat vague but figure I d give it a try on a Sunday afternoon. Just wanting to know the perhaps the exact medical term for it bump? Thanks

Hello,

A pimple / acne on scalp occurs due to inflammation of hair follicle. Acne is managed by applying antibiotic ointment and avoiding touching it frequently. I suggest you to consult your primary healthcare provider for clinical assessment and thus treatment.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Shailja Puri
