Can A Closed Fistula Reopen After Several Years?

Hello, I would like to know if a dormant or closed fistula reopen after several years? I developed psoriasis this past summer. One of the sites that became very infected was on my back where I had surgery over ten years ago. A fistula had developed during healing and took many month to close. Now I have had output from that same spot. Is this possible?

Hello, Fistula can recur. If surgically closed, at the same site it may not occur, but another one can develop. But a healed fistula can reopen after a long time due to some triggers that may be present. Thanks
