Can A Fuzzy Spot In The Lungs Lead To Breast Cancer?

My sister just finished radiation treatment for breast cancer. Her pulmonary specialist has been watching her lungs for years. She, in the past, has diagnosed benign nodules in her lungs. Now they see on x-ray and ct a fuzzy spot on her lung. Her doctor asked that she come into see him Thursday. Is there a real concern that it might be lung cancer.

Hello and welcome to HCM,
A past history of breast cancer and current development of nodules in lung are suspicious of metastasis of breast cancer to lungs.
An aspiration cytology and / or biopsy needs to be done to rule out possibility of metastasis of breast cancer into lungs.
The nodules can be benign as suggested by the X-ray, however, metastasis needs to be ruled out.
Please consult your doctor for further investigations and thus management.

Thanks and take care
