Can a hair removal cream cause a chemical burn to the vulva with blisters and extreme pain. I have been to the doctor and he suspected herpes virus and I am awaiting results. However I remember that I did use a hair removal cream there and it burnt but I didnt think it would cause this and did not mention that to the dr at the time

Hi,

Hair removal cream may cause irritant contact dermatitis. There may be redness, vesicles or bullae. There may be burning also. Mild itching may be there. The lesions may be complicated by secondary bacterial infections. You consult dermatologist. Clinical examination may be done for firm diagnosis. Take short course of antibiotics and steroids in tappering dose. Apply antibiotic cream. Soap bath may be avoided. Dettol bath may be taken. I hope you got my answer.
