I had polio in my right leg when I was 9 mounts old.I had to get hip replacement surgery on my left leg(good leg) the day of the surgery ,Dec.20th I ask my doctor if putting in the implant i will cause my left leg to be longer than what it is because I don t need a bigger limp. He look at the difference between my legs and told me he can cut the implant down. The day I went to have the staples removed I told him my concern that leg feels longer.M y doctor told me he did not cut the implant down because he felt it would not make much difference ,,,,Because of that I can not extend my left out when I walk and because the way I;m standing now I;m putting more weight on my bad leg which cause pain and discoverer and if I;m standing with my left leg fully extended my right wil not be on the ground, my right leg is 92 cm.. my left leg is 96 cm,,,,,,,Can you tell me can a implant be cut down to accommodate someone in my position and should my doctor have change his mind without consulting me.
