Can A Movable Knot On Neck Be Any Type Of Infection?
HI, I just found a small knot on my neck. about 1 inch below my hairline and approx. 1 inch right of center. It is somewhat moveable, but I have been messing with it a bit today, and now slightly sore.Could this be an infection of sorts, or should Ibe worried?
I have gone through your query and can understand your concern.
As per your complain a movable painful knot on the neck next to hair line seems to be an infected and swollen lymph node and the most probable cause of it is infection in head and neck region..
As the lymph nodes are regional draining sites the infection in nearby regions can cause swollen lymph nodes.. I would suggest you to consult a general physician and get evaluated and he can advise you a course of antibiotics and anti-inflammatory painkillers for relief.. As of now you can take anti-inflammatory painkiller like Advil or Motrin and do cool compresses over the lymph nodes..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
