Can A Painkiller Be Given For A Minor Head Injury?

My son fell and bumped his head today. He has a small bump and scrape by his eye but seems fine and played normal today after icing it for 20 minutes. However he is experiencing a bit of pain on the bump and Headache type symptoms (pain in his temples). Can I give him a pain killer (advil/tylenol) for the pain?
