Can A Painless Lump On The Back Of Neck And Headache Be Related?
I have lump on the back of my neck near my hairline. It's started out as a few small lumps awhile back now it's more of a mass. Flatter but wider. Not painful. I have been getting shooting pains on the opposite side of my head randomly and I'm not sure if it's related or not. I also noticed that I heal very slowly.
HI Thank for asking to HCM I can appreciate your concern looking to history given here I could say that this could be " Lipoma" this is does not cause any clinical symptoms, only it draws the attention all along, in my opinion just leave it like that only and stop paying attention, if it is of more concern then this should be clinically examined to confirms the final diagnosis, and it can be managed accordingly, hope this information helps you, take care and have nice day.
Hello and welcome to HCM, The lump on the back side of the head and headache may be related. The lump on the back side of neck could be compressing the nerves and/or muscles and thus be causing the pain. You need to consult your doctor for clinical examination, imaging studies to determine the origin and extent of the lesion. The lump can be treated after above mentioned details are determined. The headache may not be related to the lump on the back. There are various types of headaches which have different pathogenesis. More detailed history is needed to make a diagnosis. Consult your physician for both these problems.
Thanks and take care Dr Shailja P Wahal
