Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
my son has what appears to be a third testicle , about the same size as his normal ones. He says it has been there for about 6 years but has only just admitted to its existence. He is very reluctant to go to the doctor. He has an appointment tomorrow but I don t know if I will be able to persuade him to go, so I am asking for advice and any persuasive arguments you may have to encourage him to be examined. He says it is not uncomfortable. He is 19 years old now.
Hi
Welcome to the forum.
Poly-orchidism is the incidence of more than two testicles. It is a very loose congenital disorder, with fewer than 200 cases reported in medical literature.
It is a must that he needs to be examined.
His age fits with testicular tumour, but does not mean he has one.
It can be a just cyst of the epididymis.
Nothing can be said without examination.
Advice him not to lose the chance of cure if detected early and he will come, i am sure.
Best regards
DR GS
