Can A Pimple Behind The Ear Be Popped With A Sterilized Needle?

my husb has sev big I think pimples behind his ear lobe, which is very red a large red area surrounding the ear. he is taking some amoxicillin now...but can't get to dr. till mon...we put a warm wash cloth on it to try to make some heads to be swollen enough to poss pop to drain some of this...ear lobe is longer & red...if a head is more prominent can we try to pop w/ a sterilized needle? to relief some of this swelling? tx

Welcome to HCM.
It looks to be a boil,usually occurs due to bacterial infection.
You can use sterile needle to puncture it and drain out.
Take antibiotic like amoxy/clavulinic to subside the infection.
Also tale nsaid to subside the pain,redness and swelling.
Do regular cleaning and dressing with anti septic liquid and apply antibiotic cream like fusidic acid on it.
Consult family physician for further guidance and medications.
