Can A Pregnancy Test Be Negative But I Still Miss My Period?

How rare isit to actually be pregnant but not have a positive urine test? I am currently 3 days late for my second period in a row. I have not had a period since May 3. Also I have been on 28-30 day regular cycles for as long as I remember. I am also having some ovulation type pains around my ovaries for the last 3 weeks. Thanks

Hello,

It is likely for a woman to have a delayed period and not be pregnant or that the urinary pregnancy test shows it is negative.

This may happen if it is too early to have a urinary pregnancy test. A urinary pregnancy test can be falsely negative if it is done too close to the expected period. So, I would recommend you to repeat another one in 4-5 days. If the urinary pregnancy test remains negative then it is unlikely you are pregnant and your periods should come within the next 2-3 weeks.

If you do not get your periods during your time, you will need to see your doctor.

I hope this answers your query.
I remain at your disposal for further medical assistance.
