Can A Retained Tampon In The Vagina Cause Calcification On The Cervix?
I have to go to gynecologist tomorrow because A tumor was found in my birth canal and I have calcification on my cervix. I also have precancerous cells as well I need to schedule my treatment but I ended up being in more pain today then in the past 4-5 months tonight and I ended up pushing out a tampon that was rotten and disgusting. Honestly I have no idea how long it was inside me either for the past now 5 months I have been having pains down there. So could my problems in my birth canal and cervix be from the rotten tampon and should I bring the tampon with me tomorrow to show the gynecologist
I have gone through your query and here are the answers:
1. You need to present the tampon to your gynecologist when you go for the scheduled visit. It is possible that what was visualized as a tumor could well be the retained tampon. Culture tests may be ordered to see if there is any infection.
2. Calcification on the cervix may or may not be related and so is the precancerous stage. It is true that chronic infection can lead to dysplastic changes.
Pain is most likely due to infection and contraction of the uterus. Please get proper evaluation and plan further management and maintain proper genital hygiene.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
