Can A Second Opinion Be Taken Before A Cataract Surgery?

I went to an eye doctor to see about have my catarCts taken care of. When I went to make F/U appt, the nurse had my information wrong and what she was telling me had nothing to do with what we spoke about in the clinic. This has happened twice with his nurses and now I m afraid to have the surgery with him. Is there such a thing as a second opinion for cataracts?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

I'd like to tell you that diagnosis of cataract is not very difficult and there should not be any confusion regarding the diagnosis.

The timing of surgery may be debated. There is absolutely no harm in taking a second opinion.

Please take an appointment with another ophthalmologist and then take a decision.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr Prabhash Verma, General & Family Physician
